Subject: Tentative Agreement and Ratification Details
Dear APA Members,
We are pleased to share long-awaited news with all of you. The APA Executive Board has received and approved our Tentative Agreement (TA) with the Board of Higher Education (BHE). This document outlines the negotiated language changes and financial parameters (raises) for our next contract. The APA
Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will be effective from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027.
In the coming weeks, we will provide additional information via email and on our website, including an informational video and PowerPoint presentation. We will also host information sessions to review the negotiated changes in detail and address any questions you may have.
There are several important and impactful changes we will present, so we encourage you to thoroughly review the materials we share and attend one of the information sessions. Please check our website regularly for updates.
Once the information sessions are completed, all dues-paying members will be invited to participate in the ratification vote to approve or reject the new contract. The ratification vote will take place electronically through a link to Election Runner sent to your campus email address and will be held on January 21 and January 22, 2025. You will have a 48-hour window to vote and will receive your voting credentials and instructions through your campus email account.
To ensure accuracy, we are working closely with our Statewide Membership Coordinator and individual chapter membership coordinators to confirm our voting rolls. If you believe you should receive a voting link but do not by January 21 or 22, please contact your local APA chapter leadership for assistance.
The Executive Board has dedicated significant time and effort to advocating for these agreements. It is a remarkable achievement that the APA has completed negotiations ahead of all other MTA Higher Education unions, demonstrating creativity and determination in securing the changes we all needed.
Season’s Greetings and best wishes for a peaceful and relaxing holiday season for you and your families!
Sincerely,
Susan McNeil
